In regards to the many problems arising around access to clean water for the chiefdom Rotifunk, the foundation was keen on restoring the already existing but unfunctional water wells. 

Many of the women and girls of the village, would previously have to walk for miles every day to get water in order to complete everyday tasks, often leaving them in vulnerable situations. Also, the risk of fetching water that was unclean and likely to cause diseases amongst themselves and their families was high.

 

Wanting to solve this issue, as well as promote hygiene and grant access to safer water the foundation restored one water well and, with the help of Lions Arendal, built a brand new water well in the village. Now the village has a much-needed access to cleaner water and the daily life is made a bit easier.
